SEO factors work in combination
No single SEO factor will guarantee a position in the search engine. Having a good HTML title won’t help if the page has low quality content. Having lots of links won’t help if everything is low quality. Having a number of positive factors can increase the chances of success, while the presence of negative factors can exacerbate the probability.
Success factor on the page
Search ranking factors on the page are factors that are almost completely under the control of the publisher. What content do you publish? Do you provide important HTML instructions that help search engines (and users) determine relevance? How do search engines help or hinder your site’s architecture?
Success factors outside the page
The classification factors outside the page are factors that are not directly controlled by the publisher. Search engines use it because they learn from the start that relying solely on signals controlled by editors doesn’t always give the best results. For example, some publishers might try to appear more relevant than they really are.
By sorting billions of web pages, just seeing a track “on the page” is not enough. More signs are needed to return the best pages for a particular search.
SEO violations and ranking penalties
Don’t get me wrong: search engines want people to do SEO because it can help improve their search results. Search engines provide assistance in the form of guidelines, blog posts, and videos to encourage certain SEO techniques.
However, there are some techniques that are considered search engines as “spam” or “black hat”, which can cause your page to receive a ranking penalty, or worse, be completely removed from the search engine.
Violations in general are tactics designed to cheat or manipulate the search engine’s understanding of the relevance and true authority of a site.
Search ranking factor weight
All of the factors we show are weighted on a scale of 1 to 3, as shown in the right corner of each factor, and reflected in the tone of that factor. Weight 3 is the most important and that is something you should pay special attention to because it has a greater impact than other factors.
That does not mean that weighted factors 2 or 1 are not important; they are just that, relatively, they are less important in terms of other factors in the table. Abuse is also weighty, but in negative numbers, with -3 is the worst and potentially the most damaging to your SEO success.
Weight is based on a combination of what search engines say, SEO community surveys and our own experiences and experiences in observing space from time to time. We don’t expect them to be perfect. Not everyone will agree. Your experience may be different. But we believe that is a useful general guide.
